Romania in the 1970s. A girl grows up in a world of contradictions: between the archaic rural Banat and the lively Timisoara, between multi-ethnic diversity and the rigid structures of the Ceau?escu regime, between suburban stories from the Little Vienna of the East and survival strategies. At the age of sixteen, the girl emigrates to the West; the adult returns in a leap in time.
