"Like a dream!"

Emil Orlik in Japan

Emil Orlik travelled to Japan in 1900 which inspired him to create his superb, colourful prints. His works are confronted with original Japanese woodcuts by artists like Hiroshige and Hokusai. Historic photographs by Western travellers complement Orlik's view on Japanese society, while selected handcrafted works document the euphoria for Japan around 1900.
